The Quagga is an extinct Zebra from South Africa, They were more tameable then most zebra and there for many where shipped to europe between 1700 and 1800, african farmers trained them to gaurd live stock while, in europe they pulled carts for circuses and zoos. They where hunted to extinction thier coats attractive and soft made fine clothing. The last Quagga died in captivity before people realised it was the last one, HOWEVER they are back from extinction see my Quagga post 1900.
